Optimizing Visuals in Base: Guidelines on Image & Video Dimensions

For optimal display in Base, utilize the highest resolution images available. Base autonomously selects the right image size, ensuring swift site performance. Prioritize JPG over PNG for speedier loading.

Product Imagery Tips

Given the adjustable nature of the product page’s desktop layout, it’s prudent to focus on mobile-optimized images first. Generally, portrait (3:4 or 2:3) or square (1:1) ratios present products clearly without requiring zoom.

Aspect Ratio Suggestions for Various Displays:

  • Products:
    • 3:4 Ratio
    • Minimum: 532×710 px
    • Optimal: 1065×1420 px
    • Zoomable: 2130×2840 px
  • Promotional Displays (Heroes, Slideshows, Collection Headers):
    • 16:9 Ratio
    • Minimum: 1440×810 px
    • Optimal: 2880×1620 px
    • Note: Adjust section height to best fit images.
  • Mobile Slideshows:
    • 1:1 Ratio with at least 800×800 px dimensions.
  • Blog Entries:
    • Adjustable 4:3 Ratio
    • Minimum: 440×330 px
    • Optimal: 2880×1410 px
  • Mega Menu Display:
